The Ultimate Guide To Wedding Nail Designs - Including 15 Manicure Ideas For Every Bride
Time to wear your heart on your nails.
While a wedding glam is never complete without a fresh manicure, bridal nail designs are vast and finding your perfect tips will depend on what type of bride you are. Whether its a delicate lace decal or a classic French tips, incorporating a romantic wedding nail art design into your wedding mani adds a whimsical finishing touch to your bridal set. Remember, your newly-acquired wedding band will be on show all day, so a polished hand is essential.
“I love creating completely bespoke looks for each of my brides, drawing inspiration from the small but meaningful details of their day,” says manicurist Georgia Rae, the artist behind Sofia Richie Grainge’s coveted bridal tips. “I consider everything—from the fabric, texture, and shade of the dress, to the floral tones in the bouquet, and even the shape and setting of the engagement ring. Complementing the bride in the most personal and thoughtful way.”
How long before your wedding should you get a bridal manicure?
The length of time you should wait before getting your manicure will heavily depend on the style of nail you go for. Whether it’s classic polish or BIAB, just remember to book that way in advance.
“If you’re going with regular nail polish, I’d recommend scheduling your manicure either the day before or the morning of your wedding,” says Rae. “Traditional lacquer is more prone to chipping, so keeping it as close to the big day as possible ensures it looks pristine.”
If you’re opting for gel, you’ll find you have a little more flexibility. “Ideally, I suggest getting your gel manicure no more than two days before the wedding. That way, your nails still look incredibly fresh for all the close-up moments—like ring shots and holding your bouquet—without the risk of any regrowth showing at the cuticle,” says Rae.
What bridal manicure trends will be big this spring?
As with anything in beauty, wedding nail trends are cyclical, though more classic than seasonal changes and nail art fads.
“One of the standout trends I’ve seen and personally love is a modern take on the classic French manicure,” says Rae. “It uses semi-transparent shades—a sheer neutral for the base and a delicate white for the tip—to create a more understated and refined version of the original. It enhances the natural beauty of the nail, giving it a clean, elegant look.”
“Another look I’m loving is the milky manicure but with a twist,” says Rae. “Beginning with a sheer white base to softly brighten the nail, followed by a second layer in a translucent tone—something with a lilac, soft pink, or peachy undertone. The sheer white base gives the manicure a delicate bridal feel. It’s the perfect way to add dimension and a hint of color while keeping the overall look soft and romantic.”
