And this three-day shindig, now in its seventh year, is bigger and more badass than ever before. We’re talking 300 artists over three arenas and sets by the likes of Andy C, Artwork, The Black Madonna, Basement Jaxx, Armand Van Heleden, Dmitri From Paris, Groove Armada, Honey Dijon, Nina Kraviz, Danny Howard, Ben Klock, Chase & Status… Consider the benchmark set.

Returning for its second year, All Points East is not messing about. Not one bit. Because not just content with taking over Victoria Park this weekend, it’s having next one as well. And not just content with securing dance legends The Chemical Brothers, indie heroes The Strokes and woman of the moment Christine and The Queens as headliners, it’s only gone and put Mumford & Sons and Dizzee Rascal on the same bill. Sure! Look further down the line-up and the heavy hitting continues: Hot Chip, Primal Scream, The Raconteurs, Jarvis Cocker, James Blake, Spiritualized... Welcome back, All Points East. Almost a festival-within-a-festival, JägerHaus at All Points East is worthy of standing alone. Because at this immersive stage you’ll find a whole load of bleeding-edge talent – and a whole load of Jäger, natch. Filling the Bauhaus-themed Germanic lodge with the coolest beats in the park, DJ sets come from the likes of The Vaccines and Fat White Family, while live acts include Super Furries' frontman Gruff Rhys, electro maverick Gold Panda, and ex-Coral guitar hero Bill Ryder-Jones. What’s more, there’s a chillout Backyard area, a VIP Loft toting comfy seats and foosball and a Lodge Bar keeping you, shall we say, 'refreshed'. Did someone say Jägerbomb...?

Always wished that you could get to Creamfields with your Oyster? Consider it done. Nope, Liverpool hasn’t been annexed as Zone 159 of London: Creamfields is coming to us. Returning to Finsbury Park for a third edition, the festival’s Steel Yard offshoot is back and boy, does it mean business. Two days of massive names sees Ibiza main man Carl Cox and trance legend Eric Prydz on headline duties, with serious support from the likes of Eats Everything, Richy Ahmed and Steve Lawler. It’s all staged in a 15,000-capacity, laser-lit superstructure – so even though its daytime, you’ll get down'n'dirty all afternoon long. Yeah.

Peckham? Let north and east London have all the fun? Hell, no: SE15 is throws its own super-cool bank-holiday carnival, thanks very much. And they’ve recruited some of the biggest names in house and disco to make sure you’re moving all day. We’re talking Crazy P, Midland, Horse Meat Disco, Honey Dijon, Mr Scruff, Little Gay Brother, Chez Damier… Throw in top-notch street food, craft ales and (hopefully) glorious sunshine, and… BOOM. We have ourselves a party.

There is but one way to cure a day-festival hangover: go to another day festival. Only one that’s all about FOOD. And here to help are street-eat supremos KERB, who are back for a second year of their foodie fiesta on Bank Holiday Monday. Filling Peckham Rye Park with the top traders from across their markets, you can expect chicken from Only Jerkin', vegan tacos from Club Mexicana, pizza from Wandercrust and all manner of ice-cream-based goodness from Nonna's Gelato. Feeling better? Great, because there’s music too: from Kelis and Jazzie B, no less. Feeling the need to dance again? Yeah, us too…

Whether pre-partying, post-partying or pit-stopping, call into Casa Sugarlandia over the bank holiday weekend. This Filipino-themed multi-sensory bar - which has took up residence on Great Eastern Street this week - specialises in three things: rum, good times and DAMN good times. Expect bespoke cocktails care of Don Papa, flavours of the Philippines care of BBQ chefs SARAP and supperclub chefs Mae Williams and The Adobros, and an events line-up headed by karaoke nights with the notorious Sink the Pink. Beats, eats AND drag divas? You see what we mean by DAMN good times, then.
