What could be better than a new brewery and taphouse opening right here in King’s Cross? We’ll tell you: a massive 2,500 sq foot brewery and taphouse. That serves hand-stretched pizzas, famed street food from the likes of Patty & Bun, and small-batch spirits from local suppliers. That also has a top-of-the-line Funktion One Sound System, a huge open courtyard area, and has partnered with the uber-cool Island Records to throw all-day parties helmed by cutting-edge DJs. Oh, and one where the craft beer isn’t half bad either. Welcome to Two Tribes. We think you’re going to like it here.

Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose to see the hit immersive-theatre version of Trainspotting, which is back at The Vaults for another run. Anyone alive in the '90s will know that this will entail much effing, blinding and era-defining monologuing as we revisit Irvine Welsh’s brutal tale of heroin addict Mark Renton and his smacked-out Edinburgh friends. Only this time you’re right in the action, as the immersive staging means events unfold around you. And as anyone alive in the '90s will also know, that may well involve faeces, Underworld, and babies crawling across ceilings. Consider yourself warned.

Games. They’re not just for kids, you know. They’re also for massive overgrown kids (ie. us) who like the sound of spending a day playing on Scalextric (us again). Returning to Somerset House for another round of experimental games and retro favourites, this year’s Now Play This fest is themed on places, borders and identity. Which means that yes, you’re playing Scalextric, but you’re also taking part in a plea for peace in the Middle East, by driving intersecting roads in Israel and Palestine. Makes Ludo seem a bit on the meaningless side by comparison, wouldn’t you say?

We’ll let this story speak for itself: Imad Alarnab was one of Damascus’ top

restaurateurs, until his two restaurants were destroyed during the war. Forced to flee Syria,on his way to the UK Imad helped other refugees by cooking for up to 400 people at a time. Now, having found sanctuary here, he’s teamed up with charity Help Refugees to set up a month-long pop-up supper club to raise funds for Aleppo’s Hope Hospital for children. The d-e-e-e-licious traditional Syrian dishes – not least Imad’s famed falafel – will also speak for themselves. Saying mainly, ‘nom!’

We like: sampling the wares of London’s finest cocktail bars. We don’t like: having to
move from one such purveyor of alcoholic goodness to another. EFFORT. Here, then, is the answer to our prayers: a three-day extravaganza that brings 25 such bars together under one roof, no walking/tubing/Ubers required. That’s right: Cocktails in the City is back. This weekend, the atmospheric, candlelit former church One Marylebone plays host to the likes of Artesian, Cahoots, Coupette, Little Bat and the London Cocktail Club who will all be mixing up a storm, plus top international cocktail joints Atrium Bar (Florence) and House Bar (Amsterdam) are flying in. Kind of like the coolest international exchange programme ever, then. Cheers!

OK weather, we’re starting spring without you. And that means partying on a rooftop – come rain or shine. Open once again for another season of vertiginous shenanigans, Brixton’s Prince of Wales rooftop is getting proceedings rolling with a festival-style evening of al-fresco funk and soul. With sets by the likes of Smoove & Turrell Soundsystem, Love Ssega and the aptly named Disco Freaks, expect huge tunes, fabulous outfits and not to care even if the sun refuses to join the party.
