Recently, we've had a strong run of crime thrillers on our screens - Dept. Q, The Waterfront and Adolescence - which is showing no signs of slowing down, and that is thanks to Netflix's latest offering, North Shore.

The series follows a British detective (D.S. Max Drummond) who has been seconded to the Australian police force to help solve the mystery behind an M.P.'s (Abigail Crawford) daughter's disturbing murder.

North Shore initially premiered in June 2023, but was recently released on Netflix, earlier this month. Since its relaunch, the series has beeen lauded as having an enthraling plot line filled with twists and turns.

What Is The Plot Of North Shore?

As per ITV's official logline, the plot of North Shore is as follows: 'Set on and around Sydney Harbour, North Shore follows the clash of cultures when a British and an Australian detective team up to solve a complex murder mystery and uncover a conspiracy with international political consequences.'

Within this, the series follows the story of a British detective who travels to Australia to uncover the mysterious murder of an MP's daughter, who was killed in an affluent neighbourhood in the outskirts of Sydney.

Who Is In The Cast Of North Shore?

Within the first couple minutes of watching North Shore, you'll realise that you recognise a number of the cast members from other TV and film projects.

Joanne Froggatt, who plays Abigail Crawford, a high flying politican. Froggatt is best known for featuring in Downton Abbey as Laura Bates, as well starring in Angela Black, Breathtaking and MobLand.

Starring alongside her is John Bradley who stars as D.S. Max Drummond, a British police officer that is sent to Australia to observe an unnerving case, all while his marriage is falling apart and is struggling to get along with Australian colleagues. Bradley is best known for starring as Samwell Tarly in Game Of Thrones.

Kirsty Sturgess plays D.S. Meg Driscoll, the lead detective on the case. Prior to North Shore, she has starred in Thirteen Lives and Livity House.

Other cast members include Dan Spielman (Simon Chalcott), Rob Carlton (Lloyd Macklin), Matt Passmore (Greg Hardy), Rhys Muldoon (D.C.I. Andrew Newell), Toby Truslove (Justin Makepeace), Claire Lovering (Tori), Kristian Schmid (Hamish), Diana McLean (Marjorie Abbott), Marta Kaczmarek (Dima), Michael Beckley (Gary Weaver), Tasneem Roc (Claire Buchanan) and Helen Dallimore (Sarah Skillman).
