Despite it being one of the biggest star-studded nights of the year, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were noticeably absent from last night's Met Gala.
The couple, despite being invited by the event's committee, decided not to attend the annual fundraiser 'as a result of their schedules,' per TMZ.

Another report confirmed to Us Weekly in April that Swift and Kelce had decided to be a little more private with their relationship of late too, which no doubt also informed their absence. The insider said, 'Taylor and Travis have learned that so much attention on their relationship is not the best thing.'
Swift last attended the Met Gala in 2016, almost a decade ago, when she served as a co-chair. For that year's technology-inspired 'Manus x Machina'-themed event, which is reportedly where she met her former beau Tom Hiddleston, Swift wore a striking custom Louis Vuitton look.
Swift and Kelce weren't the only stars to swerve this year's star-studded event. Naomi Campbell, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, and Sarah Jessica Parker were among the notable absentees from this year's gala, with the latter saying in a recent interview that she couldn't attend because she had to work. 'I have to work,' the Sex and The City star told Entertainment Tonight. 'But there's going to be so much to see, and I look forward to seeing what everybody does and how they interpret the theme and the homework they did for the assignment.'
The theme of this year's event was 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,' which fundraised for The Costume Institute and put the spotlight on its spring 2025 exhibition of the same name. According to exhibition's curator, Andrew Bolton, the exhibit, which is inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, explores 'the Black dandy as both a concept and an identity signifier.'
