Just a day after it was released, it was the number one most watch TV show on Netflix in the UK. With the action so tightly hinging on the performances of those starring in the show (including Stephen Graham, Ashley Walters and Erin Doherty), many of us are wondering where we've seen the actors before - including Faye Marsay, who stars as DS Misha Frank in the show.

While some of the stars are household names, Faye is perhaps one of those actors who you're wondering where you've seen her before - because undoubtedly if you're a TV lover, you will have.

Marsay has starred in some of the biggest British prestige shows around, including Game of Thrones, Black Mirror and Lady Chatterley's Lover.

Who was Faye Marsay in Game of Thrones?

Marsay played 'Waif' in Game of Thrones - when Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams) is training under to be one of the Faceless Men in season five and six you'll remember the pair were enemies.

But facing off against Arya (one of the show's most beloved characters) wasn't fun for Marsay in real life.

'After Thrones came out, there was quite intense backlash at one point. Just because of the character I played,' she told The Independent in 2023. 'Just because of the character I played. [The fans] hated her. Because Maisie’s character was, like, the one – and there I am, hitting her with a stick.'

Who was Faye Marsay in Black Mirror?

As one of the biggest ensemble shows in the world, Black Mirror has had an incredible amount of your favourite actors star across its six (soon to be seven) seasons.

Marsay played Blue Colson in 'Hated in the Nation' - it was the final episode of season six of Black Mirror, which came out in 2016.

In the show, Marsay again played a detective, alongside Kelly Macdonald (who played Detective Karin Parke) as they tried to track down the killers responsible for a spate of deaths - all of the victims were subjects of social media hatred.

What else has Faye Marsay appeared in?

The actor has a CV fit to burst of some of your favourite TV shows, from teen comedies to Star Wars spin-offs.

The actor most recently was on TV as part of BBC show, Ten Pound Poms, in which she played Annie Roberts, but sci-fi fan may also know her as Vel Sartha, from Disney's Star Wars spin-off, Andor.

She has appeared in big TV shows like Lady Chatterley's Lover (as Hilda), McMafia (as Katya Godman), Doctor Who (as Shona), Vera and The Bletchley Circle (as Lizzie).

Her film credits include Churchill biopic Darkest Hour and Pride.

And if you're still not sure where you've seen Marsay before, perhaps it's in some of her earlier roles - the actor played Anne Neville in The White Queen as one of her first parts and then moved on to play Candice Pelling on Fresh Meat and later Katie Springer in My Mad Fat Diary.
