He was the subject of our adolescent longings as Seth Cohen in The O.C. and now Adam Brody is once again the subject of our desires after appearing as the Hot Rabbi in Netflix's Nobody Wants This.

In a true life-imitating-art moment, Brody appeared on The World's First Podcast, Sara and Erin Foster's podcast — the latter being the creator of the hit Netflix series whose real life the story is based on — when the pair asked him what his wife, Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester, made of his newly-resuscitated heartthrob image.

'She's happy and, you know, we're a team,' Brody said. 'A big part of the way I portray a relationship on-screen or relate to women on-screen is because of her and because of my real-life experience with her. She has a lot to do with it.'

That's not the only time that Brody has channelled the Hot Rabbi. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor praised his wife once again. 'She's very brave, she's very strong, she's very self-determined,' he said.

Brody and Meester tied the knot in 2014 after they started dating in February 2013. They are now parents to a son and a daughter.

For the uninitiated, Nobody Wants This, which debuted on the streaming service on September 26 and was renewed for a second season on October 10, told the story of an agnostic sex podcaster and a gloriously soft and sensitive Rabbi falling for each other.

The 10-episode series became Netflix's third most-watched series or film in the UK in the days following its release, and for good reason too. To say Brody's soft and sensitive character, rabbi Noah, was lacking in Rizz – Oxford University Press' word of 2023 – was a colossal understatement. His chemistry, and kismet love story, with fiery Joanne (Kristen Bell) was a hark back to the rom-coms of the 2000s with all of its will-they-won't-they false starts but blatant adoration.
