The creators of hit musical drama Daisy Jones & The Six have teased that the series could return for a second season.

Lauren Neustadter, the executive producer of the series, told Variety: ‘If any time Amazon came to us and said, "What would it be?", we would put our little thinking caps on about it.’

The show's writer, Scott Neustadter, added: ‘It's super fun to sit and talk to Taylor [Jenkins Read, the novel's author and the series' co-producer] for hours about where we think we could take this next. It was a calculated move to move to flash forward to their 40s. There's a lot of life left to live, so there could be a future.’

Daisy and the Six was based on the 2019 novel of the same name and was previously a Witherspoon’s Book Club select before Witherspoon's production company, Hello Sunshine, decided to adapt it.

The series, which starred Riley Keough as the titular Daisy Jones, as well as Sam Claflin and Suki Waterhouse, also drew inspiration from Fleetwood Mac's conflict-heavy Rumours era.
