Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, which first aired on September 8, has so far revealed some explosive moments, including the couple discussing their struggles as royal family members.
Following the release of Volume II of the documentary, it's been alleged that Markle 'became this scapegoat for the Palace'.
In a teaser trailer shared by Netflix on December 14 (see below), Markle's lawyer, Jenny Afia, says: 'There was a real kind of war against Meghan, and I’ve certainly seen evidence that there was negative briefing from the Palace against Harry and Meghan to suit other peoples’ agendas.'

Markle's friend Lucy Fraser adds: 'Meg became this scapegoat for the Palace. And so they would feed stories on her, whether they were true or not, to avoid other less favourable stories being printed.'
The video then cuts to Markle saying: 'You would just see it play out. A story about someone in the family would pop up for a minute, and they’d go, “we got to make that go away".'
The duchess adds that she was pinpointed in the press because 'something has to be filled in there about someone royal'.
The clip concludes with Afia highlighting that the press' coverage of the breakdown of Markle's relationship with her father was the 'final straw' in a pool of 'negative, nasty coverage about her'.
In Volume I of the docu-series, the Duke of Sussex says members of the royal family asked why the duchess should be 'protected', when discussing the numerous news headlines about her.
He says: 'The direction from the Palace was don't say anything.
'But what people need to understand is, as far as a lot of the family were concerned, everything that she was being put through, they had been put through as well.
'So it was almost like a rite of passage, and some of the members of the family were like "my wife had to go through that, so why should your girlfriend be treated any differently? Why should you get special treatment? Why should she be protected?"
'I said "the difference here is the race element".'
A previous teaser for the second instalment of the series, posted by the streaming network on December 12, sees Prince Harry allege that the royal family lied to protect his brother Prince William.
In the clip, the duke says: 'They were happy to lie to protect my brother, they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.'
It's not clear who Prince Harry is referring to whey he ays 'they', but he follows up with a reference to 'institutional gaslighting' within the royal family.
The clip also shows Markle and Prince Harry talking about their decision to step back as senior working royals in March 2020, at which point the duchess says: 'I wasn't being thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves.'
Prince Harry recalls telling Markle in response: 'I said, "we need to get out of here."'
The clip concludes with the couple enjoying US life, and Prince Harry saying: 'To move to the next chapter, you've got to finish the first chapter.'
