Whether it’s the ‘naughty’ vibes from Paris’ Hotel Costes, the 'old Hollywood' lighting of London’s Chiltern Firehouse bathrooms, or Beverly Hills Hotel’s 'Martinique' wallpaper, Poppy Delevingne has an expert eye for taking inspiration from some of the world’s most famous hotels and injecting favourite accents into her West London home.

The Kingsman: The Golden Circle actor is the latest star to invite ELLE UK into her home for an episode of My Style My Space. When she’s not running an award-winning Prosecco business, Della Vite, with her famous sisters (actor Cara Delevingne and Lady Garden Foundation co-founder Chloe) and filming across the world, the Riviera star finds tranquility in her vintage-filled terraced house, which she shares with her husband, James Cook.

The pair bought their home in 2015. With the help of London-based interior designer Joanna Plant, the pair have set out to create a space that’s oozes comfort, humour and is, above anything, rooted in family. An ornate chair inherited from Poppy’s grandmother sits in the drawing room. Pictures of loved ones and from the pair’s wedding day cover the fridge doors. The couple’s initials are embossed on the antique toilet cistern. ‘Says a lot about us, I guess,’ Poppy jokes of the personalised toilet, as she ushers us over to see her de Gournay silk-printed bathroom wallpaper.

Elsewhere in her home are some of Poppy’s favourite prints, courtesy of artist Hugo Guinness, and framed dried flowers from a trip to Florence (‘I guess they remind me of scoffing my face with pasta’), as well as a Basquiat Christmas decoration and a Paul Mescal candle on the television unit. ‘I saw them advertised on Instagram and I ended up getting Paul and Beyoncé and David Bowie, obviously,’ the actor says of her candle collection.

Despite being underground, Poppy’s basement – which has been converted from three single rooms into one huge open-plan living space – is a light and bright haven. The plush green velvet sofa, impressive herbal tea collection and a 12-seater dining table (which she says has seen ‘many a night, many a creative, many soul of a foot dancing on it’) are just some of the interior items that make her home the kind of place you want to party all night at on a Saturday and crash out with friends in pyjamas come Sunday morning.

Beckoning us upstairs, Poppy shows us her a dedicated blue and red rooms, decorated with the likes of a vintage lamp picked up from the Goldborne Road in London, Bowie-inspired lightning bolts mirrors from Wolf & Badger, and a neon light courtesy of the Yellowpop x Diet Prada collaboration. ‘I think it gives it that kind of bar, night clubby feel. I want people to come here and feel like they can misbehave and have fun,’ she says.

Following a quick pitstop to Poppy’s Carrie Bradshaw-esque walk-in wardrobe, full to the brim with pieces like a vintage Biba mini dress and a Gucci jumper (‘It's like being a human disco ball’) is the piece-de-resistance of the home – the bedroom. Rather than use paint on the walls, Poppy opted for a silk wallpaper to give the feeling of being ‘wrapped up in a duvet’. ‘We had this headboard custom made, pink velvet. I think Paris Hilton would probably like it for her bedroom too,’ she notes of her bed, before pointing out the gigantic wicker chair which she picked up in a vintage market in Notting Hill. ‘I love her because she's very sort of 1970s,’ Poppy adds.

As for her top tip for decorating a home, Poppy suggests using lacquer as a finish on top of paint to open up the space. ‘The reflections just make the room, or the hallway, wherever you're using it, look and feel so much bigger,’ she explains.

From her homemade kombucha and scoby ‘mama’ to a retro coffee table that can be manoeuvred to reveal a ‘secret’ space for ice and drinks, Poppy has achieved that rare feat of creating a truly comfortable and inviting space that’s as much a home as it is an interiors lover’s paradise.
