On Monday, old footage came to light of the former footballer giving Sky Sports presenter Rob McCaffery a tour of his Salford home in 1997, when the star was in his early twenties.
In the footage, Beckham – who was still playing for Manchester United football team at the time, while his wife Victoria was better known by her Spice Girls' band member name Posh Spice – is seen showing McCaffery around the pair's living room, decorated in blue curtains, two white leather sofas, trophies and even a cardboard life-size cut-out of the footballer.
Addressing the cut-out, Beckham referred to his now mum-in-law, Jackie Adams, when saying: 'My girlfriend's mum wanted a big cardboard cut-out of me.'
The footage was filmed before their wedding at Luttrellstown Castle, near Dublin, Ireland, which became one of the most famous nuptials in celebrity history, and saw Victoria dressed in a satin Vera Wang gown.
Standing in his cosy white-tiled kitchen, complete with pale blue cabinets and checked blinds, the former football pitch star also hilariously showed the presenter a packet of Walkers crisps with his then girlfriend's face on it.
'It's sometimes embarrassing when you go and get a big bag of Walkers crisps and it's got your girlfriend on the front,' he giggled.
Beckham, who is a father to four children – Brooklyn, 22, Romeo, 19, Cruz, 16, and Harper, 10 – is also seen in the couple's small bedroom, while McCaffery goes through his clothes in one corner of the room.
By contrast, the couple's former Hertfordshire home was known for boasting a huge walk-in wardrobe, complete with a standout velour sofa and a glamorous chandelier. The home was later dubbed 'Beckingham Palace', as a spin on the Queen's royal abode.
This year, David and Victoria's oldest son Brooklyn will marry his fiancé Nicola Peltz. While the pair could have chosen to wed at one of the family's homes, it's believed they've opted to say 'I do' at Palm Beach, the Florida estate of Peltz's billionaire father.
