Chris Hemsworth has proven that even celebrities are struggling with the balance between caring for their children and working from home at the moment.

On Wednesday, the Thor actor took part in a virtual radio interview with Triple M’s Hot Breakfast, from his home in Byron Bay, Australia.

During the call, the star spoke about his new Netflix film, Extraction, but soon found himself becoming distracted by the presence of his three children – India, seven, and twins Tristan and Sasha, both six – behind his computer screen.

'That's my kids in the background!' he told the show’s hosts before signalling for his children to be quiet.

One of his sons then proceeded to put a loving hand around his dad’s shoulders and jump in on the call.

'I'm enjoying this interview already, because I'm watching Chris, who can do anything, Hollywood star, life's going beautifully, but like all of us, can't keep his kids under control,' said host Luke Darcy.

'He's looking at me, right,’ Hemsworth said of one of his sons. ‘At the moment I'm giving him a little, "Shh, shh, shh", one of these ones.

'He's doing more and more somersaults, he's getting a little louder.'

A clearly distracted Hemsworth noted that one of his sons was throwing pillows at the computer.

‘Buddy, just hang on. It's going to knock off the...' he trailed off before remedying the situation.

The video call is reminiscent of the 2017 BBC News interview involving Professor Robert Kelly whose interview was interrupted by his excited children, resulting in the clip going viral.

Opening up about how his family is adapting to life together at home, Hemsworth said: ‘For so many years, kind of having schedules laid out in front of you and you know, I'd know exactly what I was doing for most days for the next six to 12 months, and you're trying to find little holes in the schedule...

'So to have that kind of forced upon you... I'm enjoying sort of being in the moment of it as well. It's interesting, it makes you kind of evaluate everything.'
