From gushing about the British actress' singing voice following her starring role in Mary Poppins Returns, to the the Sicario star revealing that her The Office actor husband has 'changed' her life and makes her feel 'invincible', we're pretty sure Emily and John are topping our list of favourite celebrity couples right now.
Ahead of the release of their latest film, A Quiet Place Part II, we take a look back at the sweetest things the couple have ever said about each other:
1) Emily Blunt talks watching The Crown with her 'anchor' of a husband in lockdown
Having recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in lockdown, it’s safe to say that Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s marriage is one of our most cherished in Hollywood.
In a recent interview with People, the actress opened up about her relationship with the actor and how they’ve coped in the pandemic as a couple.
‘We watched The Crown in three days, and then we were bereft,’ joked Blunt. ‘That’s the other thing about the pandemic: how lost and broken you feel once your favourite show has ended. Like, what should I do with my life now?’
Never has a statement felt so true.
‘Having John’s support is everything, because we are each other’s confidant,’ the mother-of-two continued. ‘That shared understanding has really been a very vital anchor for me.
‘Being around little ones during the pandemic was such a saving grace because they would just be bouncing around the house, and your job is to protect them from what is happening and make sure their life remains joyful,’ she added, alluding to her daughters Hazel, six, and Violet, four.
‘That was a pretty great lifeline for John and me during the pandemic, for sure.’
2) John Krasinski describes Emily Blunt as a 'tremendous' actress
At the premiere of A Quiet Place Part II at the Rose Theatre in New York City on Sunday March 8, Krasinski gushed about his wife during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
‘She is without a doubt the most tremendous actress of our time in my opinion,’ he told the news outlet.
‘She is the most incredible partner in writing and directing and set designs. She just has such good ideas,’ the 40-year-old continued.
'So I actually felt like I had my partner in all things on set, not just the best actress in the world.
'Anything I can think of, she makes 10 times better so that's a pretty good weapon to have on set,' he added.
3) John Krasinski says he was a ‘huge fan’ of his wife before they met
In an interview with E! News in October 2019, the actor explained how he and blunt have found a healthy work-life balance in order to make their relationship work and it’s safe to say, we’re taking notes.
‘I gotta say it just sort of happens organically,’ he told the news outlet. ‘It's one of those things where I was a huge fan of hers before I even met her, so I continue to be a huge fan of hers in everything she does.
‘So we're just extremely supportive, we get what the job is and that you gotta travel and do some stuff, but it's always about coming back home and being together, it's the most important thing.’
4) Emily Blunt dedicates her 2019 SAG Awards to John Krasinski
When she went on stage to collect her SAG Award for her role in A Quiet Place, Blunt dedicated the speech to her husband.
‘I am going to share this completely with my husband, John Krasinski, because the entire experience of doing this with you has completely pierced my heart directly,’ she told the room.
‘You are a stunning filmmaker. I’m so lucky to be with you and to have done this film with you. Thank you for giving me the part. You would have been in major trouble if you hadn't.
‘So you really didn’t have an option, but thank you. And thank you to the two little poems in our life, our daughters, Hazel and Violet, who will have to be at least 45 before they can see this film, but they’ll be proud of you nonetheless.’
5) John Krasinski is a big Devil Wears Prada fan
During an interview on the Graham Norton Show in 2018, the actor spoke about how he told Blunt he was a huge fan of hers during the early days of their romance.
‘I was full stalker status,’ Krasinski joked, shaping his fingers like a pair of binoculars. ‘I was just like, “Hey, you want to go on a date with me?”’
The father-of-two also revealed that he loves his wife’s film, The Devil Wears Prada. When questioned how many times he’s watched the film, Krasinski joked (at least, we hope it was a joke): ‘Give or take, 72.’
Blunt added of his husband’s love of the film: ‘There's a sort of montage sequence where Annie Hathaway's got numerous, fabulous outfits that they go through and John one day, I came home and he was watching it and he was watching the montage but he goes, “That's my favourite outfit”.’
‘Well, I couldn't get Annie, and so I was like...’ Krasinski joked about his relationship with Blunt.
6) John Krasinski cried on hearing his wife sing
Krasinski admitted that he broke down in tears when he heard his wife sing ahead of her role in Mary Poppins Returns.
On the moment he told the film’s director, Rob Marshall, that he had never heard her sing, the actor told Vanity Fair: ‘His mouth was wide open. He did not say anything. He just turned to the window, cued the song, the orchestra started playing, and Emily started singing, and I just immediately wept.
‘It was really wild. It was like finding out that your wife can levitate," he added. 'It was just like, “When were you going to tell me this?”'
He continued, gushing: ‘The air changes in the room when she starts doing what she does.
‘It’s so honest and so pure and so powerful. It’s like a superpower that she can just unlock and do so specifically with not many attempts. For me, I love acting, and I’m so lucky to be doing it. But she’s on another plane. This weird intersection happened while filming where I totally forgot I was her husband. I was just watching her performance and was lucky enough to be in the front row.’
Could they be any cuter?
7) Emily Blunt says her husband changed her life
In an interview with InStyle in 2013, the actress said of her husband: ‘Meeting John really changed my life.
‘When I feel the support that I have from him, I feel invincible. There's someone behind you on your good days and someone in front of you on your bad days.’
8) John Krasinski says Emily Blunt is the ‘coolest’
In an interview with The Daily Beast in 2016, the actor said his best days started when he met his wife.
‘I was never the coolest kid on the block, so I never had the “good ol’ days: of a playboy type of lifestyle…’ he told the publication.
‘So for me, the best days of my life started when I met my wife - that’s the truth, it’s not just me saying it because it sounds nice on a card. She’s one of the coolest people, she’s so talented, she’s beautiful, and she’s certainly out of my league. And so all of a sudden all of the things I loved, I got to find someone who loved that about me.’
9) John Krasinski describes his wife as classy and smart
During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on his chat show in October 2018, the actor said of his wife: ‘I’ve been next to her when she’s made all these amazing decisions and she’s without a doubt the classiest, smartest, most dedicated actress I’ve ever known.
‘And when you see how much she puts into every role, I didn’t want her to come to set just for me.’
