Meghan Markle stepped out for a visit to Smart Works, a charity which supports unemployed women through interview coaching and personalised styling, at their headquarters in London.
The appearance came just a few hours after Kensington Palace confirmed that the Duchess of Sussex has become patron of the organisation, along with three other causes close to her heart.

For her first engagement of the new year, Meghan wore a fitted dress by maternity brand Hatch with a swing trench coat, a style once favoured by Jackie O, from Oscar de la Renta.
For accessories, she went with a pair of unexpected cow print Gianvito Rossi 'Plexi' pumps from her own pre-Prince Harry shoe collection, and surprisingly edgy earrings from ethical jewellery brand, Kimai. She carried a smart black tote bag from Victoria Beckham.

The Duchess has visited Smart Works several times over the last year, according to the Palace, where she has already helped women through interview preparation.
Since it was set up in 2013, 60% of the women who have benefited from Smart Works' support have gone on to get a job. This year, the charity hopes to dress 3,500 women across their bases in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Reading, Birmingham and Newcastle.
During the visit, Meghan spoke to a group of women about how Smart Works coaching had helped to boost their confidence.
'It's not just donating your clothes and seeing where they land, it's really being part of each other's success stories as women, right?' Meghan told the group, as seen in a video shared by royal correspondent Emily Andrews. 'It's not just hand me downs, it's saying this is the blazer I wore that helped me win that interview and I want that to be the piece that helps this woman have that part of her story'.
Later, she was seen helping Patsy Wardally choose an interview outfit.
It looks like Meghan is a natural at offering both career and style advice.

Made from a substantial wool blend and fully lined, this one has a beautiful structure and satisfying weight that make it feel so much more expensive than it really is (and it looks it, too). Do size down though: they've overestimated the 'oversized' element.
An asymmetric cut breathes fresh edge into the camel trench coat. Wear Aligne’s double-breasted Gilda style over dark indigo denim for a crisp new-season look.
Made from 62% Manteco wool and lined in satin, this one's a heavier, warmer option to the Mango contender above. The lapel collar also boasts an asymmetric button fastening that secures tightly around your neck, helping keep out those brisk British winds.

Inimitable Italian craftsmanship underpins the timeless design, which is made from soft camel hair and neatly tailored to that perfect, just-boxy-enough silhouette.
Anine Bing's luxe cover-up is made from a blend of 90% wool and 10% cashmere, so you know it'll feel as good as it looks. Left unlined, it's a great one to wear all year round: over a simple T-shirt now, and layered with knits once winter beds in.
Cos' nonchalantly cool coat comes in a slightly darker shade of brown, which looks especially chic with supple black leather separates. It's double-faced – the hallmark of a high-street hit – and fastens neatly with concealed press-studs.
Reformation's completely classic Kai coat will look good with anything you throw it over, from wide leg jeans to a sleek slip dress. It's made from a blend that incorporates low-waste Manteco recycled wool, and shaped for a boxy shit with double-breasted front buttons. The mid-beige hue is perfect for pairing with this season's key burgundy accessories.
H&M's minimalist design is a refined take on the classic trench. It's made from a smooth recycled-polyester blend, so isn't going to see you through the chilliest days, but it's a great layering option to wear now and into spring.
The Garment's design ethos is: minimalist, but with a twist. Eschewing trends in favour of true 'forever' pieces, the brand creates some truly special staples, like this cosy camel coat. Note the fun fringed detail at the back of the shoulders.
A drawstring tie brings a unique twist to this cosy, cocooning coat. The fabrication promises longevity, too: it's made from 80% wool and 20% Ecovero viscose, made sustainably from wood pulp.
