The 20-year-old actor Jenna Ortega burst onto the scene with a bang last year, propelled to super-stardom overnight with the release of Netflix's Addams Family-inspired series Wednesday – in which she plays the already-iconic lead character, Wednesday Addams.

During a recent appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, Ortega opened up about her love life and provided a rare insight into her past relationships. When asked about her current dating situation, the 20-year-old told host Dax Shepard: 'I almost don’t even find myself interested, but a part of it is self-esteem. I’m not ready to be that vulnerable or trusting with someone.'

However, the Wednesday star also revealed that she was previously in a relationship for 'a couple of years' but that it ended when things got 'too hectic'.

'It had nothing to do with them, it was just... I couldn’t manage,' said Ortega, staying tight-lipped in regards to the name of the 'ex' in question – though it is likely she is talking about fellow actor Asher Angel, who she was linked to in 2018 when the duo attended a Halloween party dressed as Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson (who were dating at the time).

'If there's one thing I'm going to focus on – which is probably something I need to change – it's going to be my work,' she continued. Ortega also added that it wouldn't 'be fair' to enter into a relationship given her current work schedule and commitments.
