Kourtney Kardashian has branded the environment on Keeping Up With The Kardashians - the reality show chronicling her family that propelled them to stardom/world domination- 'toxic'.

Earlier this year, Kourtney, the eldest of the Kardashian-Jenner siblings, appeared to confirm (there has been some confusion) that she would no longer be partaking in the fly-on-the-wall E! series, after 18 seasons, when she replied to a viewer on Twitter. She also mentioned on the show that she would be 'taking a break'.

And now, Kourtney has elaborated more on her decision to leave the show, describing how, towards the end of her stint, the environment was 'toxic'.

'I have been filming the show non-stop for 14 years… I was feeling unfulfilled and it became a toxic environment for me to continue to have it occupy as much of my life as it was,' the Poosh founder told Vogue Arabia.

The show has followed Kourtney and her sisters Kim, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie, brother Rob and parents Kris and Caitlyn Jenner for years, showing some very personal moments in Kourtney's life, including the ups and downs and subsequent breakdown of her relationship with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, as well as her giving birth to the former couple's three children Mason, Penelope and Reign.

'Privacy is something I have come to value and finding that balance of private moments with being on a reality show is hard. People have this misconception that I don’t want to work, which isn’t true. I am following my happiness and putting my energy into that which makes me happy.'

In the final few seasons in which Kourtney featured, it certainly appeared as though tensions had reached a new high with one of the most dramatic moments unfolding in a physical fight between Kourtney and Kim leaving Khloe to clean make-up from the wall.
