Friends star Lisa Kudrow has revealed that her car was searched every night while she was filming the hit sitcom.
The surprising fact came out as Kudrow appeared via video link on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she showed off a memento from the Friends set that she has in the form of the cookie jar that lived in Monica Geller's (Courteney Cox) apartment.
The actress revealed that she had been given the prop as a wrap gift by her co-star Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing, and admitted that she'd been surprised he was allowed to take it.

And of course she also had a funny story about just why he decided to give her the jar as a memento...
"We're shooting a scene, years before we were finished, and my line was, 'Oh! I better get going', like, 'Oh! I'm late, I better get going'," Kudrow explained.
But she had suddenly realised that she wasn't wearing a watch and decided to improvise, leading to a bit of an error.
"As the words were coming out I went, 'Oh, good, there's a clock'," she said. "I gestured to that and said, 'Oh! Look at the time. I gotta get going.' And during shooting Matthew said, 'Did you point to the cookie jar and say look at the time?'"

So naturally Perry chose the cookie jar as his gift to Kudrow when the cast finished filming the sitcom in 2004, but the actress was quick to check that she was actually allowed to take it away from the set.
"I think the first thing I asked was, 'This was so nice – did you get permission?'" she joked. "I mean, my car used to get searched every night when I left."
Thankfully she was allowed to take the iconic prop home and it looks like it still has pride of place in her house, alongside a set of Friends character bobbleheads (that she doesn't think look much like the actors).
The actress recently spoke about how the iconic NBC series would look "completely different" if it was made now, saying that she thinks it would definitely have a more diverse cast.
Friends airs daily on Comedy Central in the UK and is also streaming on Netflix in the UK.
