Knives Out's Ana de Armas has spoken about landing the role of Bond girl Paloma in this year's No Time to Die.
In conversation with CinemaBlend, the Golden Globe nominee shared her initial reservations over stepping inside such iconic shoes, as the legacy of these female roles seemed almost too much.
'Bond girls have been portrayed for so many years with a specific type of woman,' reflected the Cuban actress.

'I associate it with some sort of perfection and beauty standards beyond the normal. Things that I didn't match, I was shocked when the director called me to say, 'The character is not written yet but we want you to do it.''
Ana wanted to offer something unique in No Time to Die, instead of previous Bond girls who just "need to be rescued" or are "evil".
She continued: 'I needed to read that script. And it took a little, but they sent me the scenes. It's important, because I want to bring something else to the story.'
No Time to Die was originally supposed to be out in cinemas by now, but due to the coronavirus crisis, we'll have to wait a little longer to see what Ana brings to the table.
MGM, Universal and James Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have confirmed that Daniel Craig's final 007 movie will now be released on November 12 in the UK and November 25 in the US.
'After careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace, the release of No Time to Die will be postponed until November 2020,' they said in a statement.
As well as higher and higher profile film roles, Ana De Armas has taken on another kind of job recently - that of being romantic squeeze to actor Ben Affleck.
In the wake of his relationship with Jennifer Garner, and his recent revelations about alcoholism contributing to the demise of his marriage, it has been revealed that Ben Affleck is now dating the 31-year-old Cuban-American actress Armas.
The pair were recently spotted taking their dogs for a stroll during quarantine.
No Time to Die, the 25th James Bond movie, has a new release date of November 12 in the UK and November 25 in the US. All the previous Bond movies are available on DVD or Blu-ray.
