Brad Pitt has continually proven to be the king of humorous award show acceptance speeches this year... even when he's not even attending the ceremony.

At the 2020 BAFTA awards on Sunday evening, Pitt received yet another gong for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Cliff Booth in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood.

Unable to attend the ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall due to 'family obligations', co-star Margot Robbie arrived on stage to accept the prestigious award and read out a pre-written speech by the 56-year-old.

Starting off with a timely joke about Britain's exit from the EU this week, also tying in his single status - something he's referenced several times in his speeches this year - the note began: 'Hey Britain, I heard you just became single, welcome to the club. Wishing you the best for the divorce settlement.'

Robbie continued, omitting some of it with a 'blah blah' at times, before ending with the royal-focused punchline about what he intends to name his new award.

'He's going to name it "Harry" because he's really excited about bringing it back to the States, with him...

'His words, not mine, thanks' the Australian actress quickly chimed in before the cameras panned to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who were sat front row for the ceremony.

The royal couple took the joke in their stride and were seen laughing along to the quip, which of course referred to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to quit as senior working royals and split their time between North America and the UK.

Pitt has garnered a reputation for attracting the laughs during his winning streak this award's season. Most recently, at the SAG awards, he told the crowd he'd be updating his Tinder profile with his latest achievements.
