Zac Efron has endured a major health scare after falling ill while filming a new documentary called Killing Zac Efron.
According to The Sunday Telegraph, the actor was hospitalised after contracting a 'form of typhoid or similar bacterial infection' while filming the show, and the actor has now shared a message addressing the reports on his social media pages.
'Very thankful to everyone who has reached out,' he shared.

The report claimed that Efron was flown to Brisbane, Australia from Papua New Guinea with the assistance of medical professionals.
The actor was reportedly admitted to Brisbane's St Andrews War Memorial Hospital in Spring Hill 'in a stable condition'. He received treatment there for several days before being given the all clear to fly back home to US for Christmas Eve.
Killing Zac Efron will follow the actor as he goes deep into the jungle on a remote island, taking himself off the grid for 21 days.
Ahead of the new series, Efron said in a statement: 'I tend to thrive under extreme circumstances and seek out opportunities that challenge me on every level.
'I am excited to explore any uncharted territory and discover what unexpected adventure awaits.'
