After months of anticipation, Greta Gerwig's Little Women remake is almost here.

Naturally, a remake of such an iconic book has literary fans all aflutter, but more than that, as we see Greta Gerwig of Frances Ha renown, take to the director's chair, bringing a plethora of A-list actors with her, we know that this re-enactment is going to be seriously special.

Stars Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet reunite, following Gerwig's 2017 film Lady Bird, as Jo March and Laurie, demonstrating their unique, on-screen chemistry against a scenic autumnal Massachusetts backdrop.

The rest of the March quartet includes Florence Pugh (who plays a phenomenal Amy), Eliza Scanlen - who brings vulnerability and quiet dignity to Beth - and Emma Watson, who returns to screens as responsible and caring eldest sibling Meg.

As if that wasn't enough, Laura Dern plays the March mother and Meryl Streep portrays Aunt March.

So, when ELLE UK got the chance to sit down with Gerwig, Ronan, Chalamet and Pugh in London, we couldn't wait to find out more about the behind-the-scenes dynamic of such a talented, A-List cast.

The actors had more differences than similarities, with Pugh choosing Chalamet as her stand-in stylist because, despite being a regular on the red carpet scene, the 23-year-old actor forgoes a professional stylist in order to dress himself. While Gerwig chose Ronan 'because she always looks so nice', even if the Irish actor has been told she 'dresses like a primary school teacher'.

Rather charmingly, everyone confessed they would give Dern and Streep a call for advice about getting over heartbreak, with Chalamet adding that he'd also get in touch with his good friends Ronan and Gerwig.

'Awww, he has done that with us,' an empathic Ronan revealed.

'He's a little sweetheart,' said Gerwig.

Naturally, Gerwig and Ronan also proffered #HeForShe campaigner Watson for the role of UK Prime Minister.

'She's already half there,' Gerwig said enthusiastically.

We concur.

Little Women is released in UK cinemas on Boxing Day (26th December).
