For the enchanting, yet somehow relatable, Margot Robbie, looking her best is about feeling her best – which means having fun with exercise rather than abiding by a gruelling routine.

Speaking to The Telegraph, the Hollywood actress and Chanel beauty ambassador explained; 'I love food, I love wine and I love having a good time with my friends. But I also don’t love the feeling of knowing that I don’t look my best.'

As with many of us, for Robbie, it’s a case of 'walking the line between having as much fun as possible and continuing to take care of myself,' she said. 'Eating well and exercise need to be prevalent in my life so that I can feel my best, but I don’t want to dwell on it too much.'

While she told the publication that exercise is simply part of her lifestyle ('I like to play tennis, run around the park or do a dance class with girlfriends'), she credits a dynamic version of Pilates as her go-to discipline.

'If I’m making a conscious effort to exercise, I work with a Pilates trainer on a reformer machine, and that suits me and my body best,' Robbie said.

Reformer-based Pilates can be an intense full-body workout, that helps build lean, toned muscle, while promoting flexibility.

In London, we rate classes at Heartcore, Ten Health & Fitness, Pilates HQ. For an even more intense version, try Studio Lagree (a US export). Taught on a Megaformer, a souped-up version of the punishing reformer machine, these classes are thought to be favoured by the Duchess of Sussex, who once called it "the best thing for your body".
