Fashion month is drawing to its spectacular crescendo, following a 'Super Sunday' of Balenciaga, Valentino, Givenchy and Kanye's Sunday Service and weeks of feathers, tulle and new styling tricks - note the season's favourite 'Diana Tuck' .

So now is the perfect time to take a retrospective look at the trends that will beging to take shape for AW20.

One in particular has caught our eye; from frothy meringue shoulders to three tiered cakes walking the runway (we see you Moschino) we're already salivating over almost edible looks coming our way next season.

Here are the most delicious catwalk moments from New York, London, Paris and Milan AW20:

Cake Slice Collars

Not just your average oversized lapels, these JW Anderson beauties stretch far beyond the shoulder, doubling up as a shawl-coat combo. In sumptuous shades of chantilly cream and cocoa powder these mega-collars are good enough to eat.

Opt for a supersized, raglan sleeve and trapeze cut to balance out proportions for the chicest of silhouettes this coming season.

Mirror Glaze Dresses

A trend for the fashion mavens here, with everyone's favourites Bottega and Ganni getting involved for AW20.

Mirror glaze sequin gowns shimmered their way down the runway in the perfect shade of chocolate ganache during fashion month. Keep the length past the knees and team with thick-soled stompy boots to nail the tricky sequin-by-day look.

Mary Berry would be impressed.

Custard Coats

Custard might usually be paired with sticky toffee pudding or apple pie but the catwalk at Fendi was awash with the pudding-staple colour at the AW20 shows.

This shade of yellow is not too bright, not too creamy, and evidently makes for an ideal coat colour. Go head to toe, à la Marc Jacobs, if you're feeling brave or opt for pops of the sunshine hue with accessories like a bag, a pair of shoes or a hat.

Cake Stand Silhouettes

.

A real showstopper, cake stand-shaped dressed graced the catwalk at Moschino, with models sporting walnut whip-style bouffant hair dos and tiered, 'iced' skirts to give us some real Marie Antoinette vibes.

If you don't fancy going full Bake Off then take inspiration from the frosting, pastel shades, Bardot necklines and kitsch platforms to work into your wardrobe.

The thought of cake on the catwalk never had us salivating us so much.

Caramac Coats

A leather trench is a sight to behold, no more so when it comes in tones of all things caramel.

Take inspiration from outerwear giants Saint Laurent, Burberry and Tod's next season and wear your favourite Caramac-coloured coat over a pair of berry PVC leggings.

Trifle Layers

Usually, the words 'frou-frou' and 'frothy' would have us thinking twice but when it comes to AW20, we're looking to the classic trifle for some serious sartorial inspiration.

Make like a layered trifle next season and pile the tulle on over everything, whether it's a tulle blouse over a long-sleeved top at Molly Goddard and JW Anderson or opting for a Gucci-esque, multi-tiered dress. More is more, remember?

Bubblegum Blue Bags

.

We all know blue is having its moment; from Pantone announcing their SS19 Colour of the Season 'Classic Blue' to Bottega's sought after, brighter-than-bright turquoise mules. It seems blue is still the perfect accessory shade for autumn and winter this year.

Next up, we have the slightly softer, equally as punchy, bubblegum-hued bags which were seen lighting up the runways. To inject this colour into your wardrobe. look to Prada's bright blue update to their classic 'Galleria' bag, and big-hitters Gucci and Fendi who are leading the way with sky-toned arm accessories.

Pavlova Shoulders

.

In just the right shade of double cream and a good amount of puff, the meringue shoulder is the perfect finish to any ensemble.

Jil Sander recently added full body to a usually sleek silhouette, while JW Anderson presented a shining example with voluminous shoulders at his show in London last month. Ever the chic suit masters, Max Mara gave us a lesson in oversized blazers which now has us lusting for layers with va va voom shaping.

Wear your pavlova shoulders with thick denier tights à la Kaia Gerber and you'll leave onlookers hungry for more.
