Fashion is undeniably in its hybrid shoe era. The ballet-trainer has solidified its place in the wardrobe of the style-set, but the corset shoe is its sexier, more glamorous sister.
As the name suggests, the corset shoe borrows its design from the eyelet and thread associated with the historical body-shaping garment. Not that your feet need pulling in — this is purely for aesthetics only.

Styles that start with lacing low-down on the toe and then work up the rest of the foot add a seductive, rock n' roll edge to an outfit — Ganni have utilised this across flats, mules and boots, which plenty of guests wore to the brand’s recent show at Paris Fashion Week. Inspired by designs from the 1920s, these shoes somehow manage to look totally modern in 2025.
Another brand looking to the past for Autumn/Winter 2025 was McQueen, where creative director Séan McGirr channeled Victorian Dandies and Dickensian London. Every model wore buckled or laced, exaggerated point-toe shoes and boots throughout the show, proving that the trend will last throughout the year.
But it’s not just designers taking note — London and Spain based brand Miista’s latest Spring/Summer 2025 collection features plenty of lace-up boxing boots, ballerinas and mules. Y2K-loving brand Jaded London have teamed up with long-time goth favourite footwear label New Rock, on a capsule collection that features an eyelet studded, metal-heeled mule. And retailers such as Mango and Charles & Keith are all tapping into the corset footwear trend, offering kitten heels with laced-up toes.
Styled with a floral dress or romantic ruffles, corset heels create a look with historical flair. Push it further and commit to the punk feel by pairing with leather, or simply let them peek out from underneath wide-leg jeans. We’d also recommend wearing with coloured tights or patterned socks to add a flash of colour underneath the lacing.
