It’s hard to believe that Tove launched just three years ago and made its runway debut last season. Camille Perry and Holly Wright’s considered tailoring and languid jersey dresses with twisted drape details feel super fresh and also like things that have been part of your wardrobe forever. The designers believe in a sustainable, less-is-more approach to style, so while their sophomore runway collection added new elements to the conversation — like some great denim, plus Tove shoes! — everything paired back to what came before.
The Venue:
Brutalist architecture is so hot this season. The Tove show was held at Hayward Gallery. The art space is situated within the concrete edifice of the Southbank Centre, another distinctive London landmark built in the 1960s like the Barbican Estate where Roksanda showed on Saturday. Also like Roskanda, Perry and Wright chose a minimalist environment filled with straight lines and hard surfaces to contrast with the softness of their designs.
The Casting:
Caroline Trentini walked Tove, as did Cali Rand, a breakout star from the ’90s-turned-gardener. They were joined by some of today’s single-name-onlys (Ugbad, Kerolyn) and fresh faces, adding an underline to the point that Tove looks great on women of all ages and is the kind of label to buy now and love forever.

The Front Row:
The FROW at the SS24 show was filled with Tove cognoscenti dressed in calm neutral shades of black, white, sand, clay, stone, ivory, buttermilk and khaki. We picked out actors Sheila Atim and Sophia Brown in the sea of quiet luxury.
The Collection:
The SS24 Tove collection felt like Perry and Wright were filling in the pieces a woman might want to complete her tightly edited capsule wardrobe. So there was denim, because who doesn’t need a great pair of jeans? It was cut straight and wide from hip to ankle like nice pair of trousers, and paired with fresh chalk white tops with interesting necklines. They also indulged the occasional flight of fancy, like a shot of vibrant red on a ruched silk dress, or the fluttering feathered hemlines of silk chiffon skirts worn with oversized knits.
Perhaps most exciting: the debut of Tove footwear. Many fans were disappointed to learn that the Charvet slippers paired with every look last season were just for styling. Come spring you will actually be able to buy the runway shoes: a babouche slipper, flat almond toe pump, and elegant flat sandal handmade by artisans in Portugal.
