Venice Film Festival 2024: The Best Dressed Stars On The Red Carpet
It's back and serving some iconic fashion moments already.
The end of August can only mean two things: post-holiday blues and keeping a beady eye on all of the jaw-dropping gowns at the Venice Film Festival, which is otherwise known as the most glamorous event of the year.
One of the oldest film festivals in the world (the first one was held in 1932), VFF sees the world's most important actors, filmmakers, supermodels and tastemakers descend on the iconic red carpet to attend the most hotly anticipated premieres – and parade in front of the cameras in some truly show-stopping designer creations, of course.

Some of our favourite looks over the years have included Sophia Loren’s iconic '50s taffeta dress, Amal Clooney’s lilac-hued Atelier Versace number in 2017 and Timothée Chalamet's backless halterneck red ensemble in 2022 – all accessorised with a serious smattering of diamonds, naturally, for glamour with a capital G. It helps that the event is sponsored by Cartier, too...
As for the 2024 edition, the excitement kicks off on August 28 and will continue all the way through to September 7, with a jam-packed schedule of screenings, parties and galas, and a stellar guest list to boot. The likes of Angelina Jolie, Jenna Ortega, Lady Gaga, Monica Bellucci and Cate Blanchett are expected to attend this year, and we have no doubt they'll be pulling out the big guns style-wise for the occasion. Is the 81st Venice International Film Festival set to be the most glamorous yet? Only time will tell...
