
After a 3 year hiatus - during which they pursued solo careers- Girls Aloud, Cheryl Cole, Kimberly Walsh, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle have reunited. The staggering success story of reality show Popstars: The Rivals is back, in a big way.
The band managed to keep the full details of todays special announcement under wraps but after weeks of teasing tweets from the girl group the guessing game is over.
The line up of new releases and tour dates announced at the press conference held this morning at the Corinthia Hotel in London will please their huge fanbase who have helped them secure their position as the biggest selling girl group of the 21st century.
Their comeback single Something New - the official single for BBC Children in Need 2012 will be released on 18th November through Polydor records.
A new album (set for release on 26th November) Ten will follow, which is a compilation of their greatest hits plus four new songs. Thrilled to be back on the road - with tour dates lined up in February 2013 - Cheryl Cole explained touring is the best thing we do. Its so much fun and with what we do it is the only time we have a routine, consistency.
The chemistry between the girls was palpable and they joked with host and Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw about the things they have to have on tour. For Nadine Coyle it's really hot dancers whereas Cheryl Cole opted for good teabags.
