Fans of the original teen drama Gossip Girl felt the nostalgia when Kelly Rutherford and Leighton Meester reunited on the front row at the Elie Saab during Paris Fashion Week. The pair were photographed alongside the fashion designer and American actor Sofia Carson, who, at one point, was rumoured to take on the role of Blair Waldorf in the HBO Max Gossip Girl reboot.

Inside the show, Meester was seated next to former Gossip Girl co-star Rutherford, who played Lily van der Woodsen, the socialite mother of Blake Lively’s character, Serena van der Woodsen. Several TikTok videos of the pair chatting circulated before the show began, much to the delight of longtime fans of the Noughties teen drama. Meester wore a black, white and green floral lace gown, while Rutherford opted for a nude sheer sequin embellished dress for the show.

Recently, it was confirmed that she is set to star in season two of Nobody Wants This, which started filming in Los Angeles on March 7, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series marks another professional milestone for Meester, who will be sharing the screen with her husband, Adam Brody.

Adding another layer of nostalgia, Meester’s upcoming appearance on the Netflix series will also serve as a subtle nod to her Gossip Girl days. Kristen Bell, who famously voiced the mysterious narrator in the original series, plays the protagonist in Nobody Wants This. Meester will reportedly play Abby, who is described as Joanne’s (Bell) middle school nemesis, who is now an ‘Instagram mummy influencer.’ The two actors recently reunited at the 2025 SAG Awards, fuelling even more excitement about their upcoming on-screen dynamic.
