The spring/summer 2025 edition of Paris' bi-annual Haute Couture Fashion Week is officially underway, and some of the world's biggest style stars have descended on the French capital to take it all in from the front row. Among them is Ava Phillippe, the 25-year-old daughter of Hollywood heavyweight Reese Witherspoon – who is not only a fashion world darling in her own right, but has set her sights on rising through the Hollywood ranks, too.
Ahead of Christian Dior's much-anticipated couture show, that was also attended by the likes of Pamela Anderson, Jenna Ortega and Nicola Coughlan, the up-and-coming actor and model sat down with ELLE UK to discuss her look for the event, her unique personal style, and why she 'pushed away' the acting world for so long...

On her look for the show
'This look is like nothing I've worn before – in the best way! I'm wearing a look from the Dior Cruise 2025 collection, which was shown in Scotland. I'd describe it as Victorian-meets-punk, a striking blend of traditional and new.
'I really love how this look combines such feminine elements – pearl buttons, a voluminous skirt – with the edginess of the silver studded corset and motorcycle boots. To me, it speaks to the underlying strength and grit that I think all women possess.'
On her glam
'The beauty look we went with is very romantic, which I think pairs quite well with the more Victorian aspects of what I'm wearing. My glam team, Polly Osmond and Jillian Halouska, focused on enhancing my natural features and keeping things soft, which I think complements the more intense parts of the look.'
On her personal style
'I'd describe my personal style as feminine, distinct, and a little bit of edge. I love focusing on one unique piece, like a red pair of boots or some statement earrings, and building an outfit from there. I find that getting dressed with creativity and originality in mind always helps me feel most myself. Maybe it's because my rising sign is Aquarius, but I love a little touch of eccentricity. Haha!'
On her career
'Lately, I've been exploring the world of acting, which has been such a fun and dynamic way to express my creativity and interests in psychology and human behaviour. For a long time, I pushed acting away in an effort to individuate from my parents and really be my own person, but I've since allowed myself to explore it more and found that I'm able to express my unique perspective through this medium and put my own spin on things.'
On her upcoming projects
'I just finished shooting some episodes on shows for Netflix and Hulu/ABC, and can't wait to share more of the projects I'm working on in the near future!'
