Priyanka Chopra Jonas is a red carpet seasoned pro, with many Roberto Cavalli, Lanvin and Ralph and Russo looks under her belt, but little did we know that she used a very clever fashion trick in case of emergencies on her wedding day.

The actress recently spoke to footwear designer Christian Louboutin about her love of his designer shoes, about her wedding day and also her new getting ready routine at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

The pairing was fitting given that, in December 2018, the Quantico star wore several Louboutin designs on her wedding day to Jonas in Jodhpur, India.

‘Every girl dreams of being a princess on her wedding day,’ she told the designer in new interview for Instyle.

At her wedding, the star wore a custom-made lace Ralph Lauren gown covered in Swarovski crystals, which took a total of 1,826 hours to complete. The dress was teamed with a 75-foot veil.

She later changed into a red lehenga by Indian designer Sabyasachi. The design was made of hand-cut organza flowers, French knots in silk floss, and Siam-red crystals.

Speaking about working with the actress on her wedding looks, Louboutin revealed that he designed several shoes with ‘some things that held the ankle with a mid-heel’.

‘And then for emergencies I added some sets of sandals the colour of her skin with gold inside.’

A comfy pair of Louboutin sandals – we couldn't think of anything better to wear to dance the night away!

During their discussion, Chopra Jonas also spoke about how she’s maintaining her A-list style during lockdown at home with her husband Nick Jonas.

‘If you want to feel a little bit more normal right now, you wear an amazing pair of Louboutins with your sweatshirt, put your hair down, add some red lipstick — and you’re dressed up for dinner,' she advised readers.

The average pair of Louboutins will set you back around £495 so, for anyone who wants to follow in Chopra’s red-soled footsteps in lockdown, you might want to start saving now.

The Indian star also recalled the first time she wore a pair of the designer shoes on a photo shoot after watching an episode of Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) wearing a pair in Sex and The City.

‘I was like, “These are SJP’s!”’ Chopra Jonas joked. ‘I was really excited about it.’

Speaking about his love of design, Louboutin explained: ‘I think women just want to look good.

‘It’s a common drive to want to look good, to want to please yourself. No one wants to look shorter than they are.’
