Chopova Lowena has been awarded the The 'New Establishment Womenswear' Award at The Fashion Awards 2023:

Central Saint Martins graduates Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena-Irons accepted the award from model Precious Lee during the star-studded ceremony at The Royal Albert Hall.

'Thank you so much to everyone who supported us,' Chopova said, 'And thanks to our wonderful team, and parents, and our boyfriends, and our dogs.'

Founded in 2017, Chopova Lowena's hyper hybrid of references and styles (somehow meshing prep school uniforms, 1970s punk and Eastern European folk dress to great effect) have taken London's street style set by storm. With every other editor owning, or wanting to own, the London-based brand's carabiner-laden kilts, it's unsurprising they have won the award that looks to celebrate the newer brands making the most noise.

Though, they weren't without peer, with the other 2023 New Establishment Womenswear nominees being Supriya Lele, KNWLS, Robert Wun and Dilara Findikoglu, all of whom have found international acclaim in recent years.

But this isn't the first time Chopova Lowena has been nominated for a Fashion Award - last year the pair were up against Ahluwalia, Nensi Dojaka, S.S. Daley and Wales Bonner for the BFC Foundation Award (S.S. Daley won).

Over in the menswear category, Bianca Saunders has taken the prize for 2023's New Establishment Menswear. Also against stiff competition, including Saul Nash and Labrum.

Chopova Loweva dressed Amelia Dimoldenberg tonight who wore a two piece suit.

Other winners presented tonight include; Michaela Coel, recipient of the Pandora Leader of Change Award, Conner Ives, recipient of the BFC Foundation Award and, and the lifetime achievement award for Valentino Garavani.
