Look, we've all done slightly obscure things in the name of beauty. Scroll through your social media feed and you'll notice it seems to have become a battleground of odd content, the stranger the better. Using lube as a primer? Sure. Cling film make-up application hack? Why not.
Of course, the majority of these bonkers 'trust the process' routines are, for one, not that practical, and two, don't give results that are more remarkable than, for example, just using a normal primer. There are however, a few exceptions to what we'll be tempted to try, and it turns out one of those is when we see Bella Hadid dunking face-first into a bowl of ice. Naturally.
Make-up artist and friend of Hadid, Isamaya Ffrench, posted a clip of the 25-year-old model casually plunging her bare face into a bowl of ice cubes on Instagram. 'It's called ice bath by Bella Hadid,' the model joked before submerging her face into the water.

While some might view this as an extreme way to shake off the Monday morning cobwebs, Hadid's method is actually a pretty tried-and-tested method of cryotherapy or 'skin icing'. It's long been a method used in Korean skincare, as well as having a line of loyal celebrity converts such as Joan Crawford and Jennifer Aniston.
The reason? Skin icing is pretty effective at de-puffing, reducing inflammation and improving blood flow, instantly making the face appear brighter and more toned.
Hadid has always kept her cards pretty close to her chest when it comes to what skincare products she uses to get her flawless complexion, recently revealing that she had undergone a nose job when she was 14 but that, despite much speculation, she's never had fillers.
If you want to try the trend for yourself but don't quite fancy a face full of ice first thing in the morning (we don't blame you), cryotherapy tools have been having a popularity surge of late, allowing you to reap the benefits of skin icing without the extreme face-submerging element.
