These Are The Best 5 Pedicure Trends If You're Getting Your Feet Out For The First Time This Year
Time to put your best foot forward

Chrome nails, marble designs, cat-eye nails...there seems to be endless inspiration when it comes to elevating our manicure. But why should our hands have all the fun? If you (like many of us) have been neglecting your toenails, there's no better time to show them some extra care - especially now that the heeled flip flops are all the rage.
While celebrities (think Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez), fashion week and social media offer up a treasure trove of manicure designs, pedicure inspo is arguably harder to come by as toes aren't generally as visible as hands are. They also provide minimal canvas space for nail art and admittedly, many people are squeamish about looking at feet and hence are less likely to post images of them.
But worry not - we've done the hard work for you and uncovered this spring's best pedicure trends so your toes can look just as spectacular as your hands. Pedicures are also a great option for experimenting with new colours and finishes as they're less obvious than a manicure. So, if you're tempted by the idea of butter yellow or sparkly glitter but find them a little too trendy for hands, test drive them on your toes instead.
What are the biggest pedicure trends for spring 2025?
If you prefer to keep it classic, French tips are chic both on hands and feet. Switch the pale base for a pop of candy floss pink to keep it feeling fresh for the new season. 'Pastel French tip is my go to this spring, it’s chic but fun at the same time,' seconds nail artist and owner of Milly's Beauty Bar in York, Milly Mason, who's also a fan of evergreen hues such as red, black and sheer pink.
Elim expert and nail artist Faye Louise Dennis agrees. 'We’re seeing a lot of pastels peep in this summer, alongside bright watermelon reds. Natural soap nails (a barely-there sheer nude or pink) and classic clean French are always requested as summer comes around. All these trends are really lifting us out of the lull of winter, pastels in particular.'
Nail art done just on the big toes will also add interest without looking overdone. Try a retro-style floral or more intricate, spring-coded ladybug for something unexpected. 'I also think a glitter reverse French on the big toes may also have a comeback soon, as diamantés placed near the cuticle were a huge trend in 2015,' adds Dennis. 'Replacing the rhinestone with a sheen of subtle glitter will give the pedicure a more minimalist feel.'
How to extend the longevity of your pedicure
Just like the nails on your hands, ensuring it stays hydrated is key to maintaining a perfect pedicure for longer. 'Use a cuticle oil and foot cream daily,' suggests Mason. 'Your feet tend to get a lot dryer in sandal season so hydration is key. I like to use a urea-based cream.'
How to take care of your feet
To keep your toenails in top form, properly fitted footwear is key, adds Mason. 'Regularly trimming and filing your toenails is also a must as keeping them short and clean will prevent the nails from catching and damage,' says Mason, who notes that it's important to regularly keep an eye on your feet to keep discomfort (think ingrown nails, nail infections and calluses) at bay.
'We stand on our feet all day (and all of our energy comes from our feet) so regular pedicures are a must to keep the feet in tip-top condition and fight bacteria,' says Dennis. In between pedicure appointments, daily application of cuticle oil (Dennis recommends Elim Cuticle MD) and a weekly foot soak with Elim Spa Additive will 'keep any bacterial concerns at bay, as they both contain natural antiseptics to fight infection.'
'The toenails are part of the whole foot system, so ensure you are also moisturising at least three times a week with a specific foot cream,' shares Dennis, who's a fan of Elim Mediheel Foot Perfector (this editor also rates Margaret Dabbs Foot Lotion). While your body lotion will help with hydration, bear in mind that the feet are generally much drier than the rest of your body so a more intensive formula is best.
