We see many celebrity hair transformations, but only every now and then does an A-lister's new look really make us say 'Wow!' Julia Roberts elicited a similar reaction with her textured lob recently, but Angelina Jolie's new Seventies-style curls have just taken the top spot.

The actor is known for her long, dark hair that's almost always styled straight and sleek (at most, lightly wavy) in line with her signature aesthetic. So, when she arrived on the red carpet for the premiere of her new film, Maria, on Saturday (26 October) having dramatically changed things up with bouncy 'disco curls', we had to do a double take before recognising her.

Cleverly created by celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora, Angelina's soft, effortless-looking ringlets tumbled over one shoulder in an autumnal golden blonde, while staying darker at the roots. Her flipped parting added further pre-Raphaelite volume, while a bold red lip and matching red manicure ensured she didn't stray too far from her famous personal style.

Just like the acclaimed opera singer she plays in Maria, the star was the picture of glamour in a slinky champagne-coloured dress, accessorised with a charcoal-grey wrap, pointed metallic heels and gold jewellery.
