At first, you might think that you've somehow fallen into a time warp and ended up in 2009 – back to right around the time you had The Climb and Party In The USA on repeat, and queued at the cinema to see Miley Cyrus in The Last Song. Why? Well, because that's probably the last time you saw the singer/actor/superstar with brown hair.

Until now that is. Cyrus has ditched her usual blonde and has reverted back to her natural brown hair colour. She debuted the new look via Instagram, in a post congratulating Gucci's new creative director Sabato De Sarno on his first runway show.

As lovely as the sentiment of the caption is, nothing could draw our attention away from Cyrus' deep brown hair: worn centre parted and straight with a gentle wave, it comes down past her shoulders and looks uncannily similar to her natural 'Miley' hair from the Hannah Montana days. In the very best way.

For years now, Cyrus has very much been a blonde – most recently switching to a two-tone hairstyle, as seen in the video for Used To Be Young. This mix of blonde-on-top, brown-on-the-bottom was possibly the first sign that Cyrus was on the path to brunette.

But from social media's reaction, nobody saw this surprise hairstyle unveiling coming, with one Instagram user commenting, 'OMG YOU ARE TOTALLY BROWN AGAIN. FINALLY. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT FOR LIKE 10 YEARS'; while another added, 'I thought this was a pic from 2009 whatttt' and a third confirming what all of us are thinking: 'BROWN HAIR MILEY HAS ENTERED THE CHAT… THIS IS NOT A DRILL 🚨🚨🚨🚨'

So, speaking on behalf of everyone: brunette Miley, it's good to have you back.
