Jessica Chastain bid adieu to her signature red hair as she enters her blonde era. The actress and Broadway star just debuted long, ice-blonde hair at the 2023 Met Gala, alongside a glamorous black tiered dress, sheer gloves, and black cat eye sunglasses that stayed on brand for the evening’s theme of Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. The catch: Her blonde hair is a wig.

Chastain gave a sneak peak of the look on her Instagram before arriving to the event and hinted her inspiration to fans with the caption, 'Any guesses who’s my inspo for tonight?'

Hairstylist Renato Campora created a polished look on the wig by blow drying it with Hair Rituel by Sisley-Paris Blow Dry Brush 2 and curling large sections of the hair to embody a 'a Karl Lagerfeld elegance,' he explains.

To keep the focus on her new hair, Chastain’s make-up artist Kristofer Buckle kept the rest of the face neutral with a clean base, including prepping with Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream, a dramatic smoky eye using, and a nude lip.

This red carpet look isn’t Chastain's first time rocking blonde hair. The actress famously switched her copper hair for a pale blonde colour for her role as Tammy Faye in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, which she starred in alongside Andrew Garfield in 2021. She previously won Best Actress for the role at the 2022 Oscars.

Chastain's choice to wear a wig instead of permanently changing her hue makes sense as her Broadway play, 'A Doll's House,' is still running.
