11 Modern Floral Perfumes Every It-Girl Is Wearing Right Now

These effortlessly cool scents are already trending for autumn.

By

Floral perfumes have existed since ancient civilisations, so it's no surprise that in 2025 the choices are endless. Whether you stay true to old-school classics like Dior J'adore and Estée Lauder Beautiful, prefer a minimalist, modern scent such as Diptyque Fleur de Peau or Byredo La Tulipe, or lean towards niche, unique creations like Sana Jardin Revolution de la Fleur or Ellis Brooklyn Florist, there’s a floral perfume out there for everyone.

The real question is: out of millions of flowery options, which of these coveted floral perfumes have the cool-girl allure to become a signature fragrance in 2025? According to Natalie Guselli, head of beauty and commercial at Liberty London, there is a foolproof formula.

'A modern floral in 2025 is rarely just "pretty." It's about contrast and complexity, 'she says. 'We're seeing florals paired with green, mineral or even smoky accords to create something more dimensional and less conventional. Think tuberose with vetiver or violet cut with oud. Where traditional florals lean into softness and romance, today's interpretations feel bolder, moodier and more gender-fluid and more about individuality.'

From celebrity favourites to chic fruity bouquets our beauty editors can't stop wearing, we've narrowed the vast world of floral scents down to the 11 best perfumes to wear in 2025. Here's everything you need to know.

The Best Floral Perfume Trends To Watch Right Now

Floral perfumes follow seasonal trends just like manicures or footwear; think light, airy petals for spring and summer, then richer, woody or amber blends for the cooler winter months. As autumn approaches, transitional scents are more popular than ever, with earthy oud and musk undertones leading the charge for 2025.

'Our customers are gravitating towards florals that challenge expectations,' says Guselli. 'Ianthe Oud by LBTY has become a firm favourite for its reinterpretation of English florals, weaving deep, earthy oud through something bright and modern. We’ve also seen strong interest in newer houses such as Perfumer H Rain Cloud, which reimagines a fresh bouquet on a bed of white musks and amber.'

The question is: why do these fragrances resonate with a modern audience? Guselli explains that they reflect how people want to wear scent today: not as a polite accent, but as an extension of their personality.

She adds that rose is also having a renaissance. 'We often find that people think of the note as traditional, until they try brands like Matière Première Radical Rose reimagines it with woody depths that make it feel modern.'

How To Find The Best Floral Perfume For You

With thousands of options out there, it's often difficult to know where to start when looking for the perfect floral perfume. This is Guselli's top advice for finding your new signature scent. As someone who sifts through new brands, scents, and launches every single week, she really is the expert.

'Start with how you want to feel rather than what you think you 'should' wear,' she says. 'If you love understated elegance, you might gravitate towards a clean, dewy rose. If you're drawn to drama, a heady white floral with amber or spice might feel more authentic. Don’t be afraid of surprise pairings, too. A floral with a smoky or woody base can reveal a completely different side of your style.'

Her most important piece of advice? Wear it on your skin. 'A fragrance comes alive on the body, and that chemistry is what makes it truly yours. I think it's really interesting to mix things up and contrast the fragrance to your style. For example, Bienaime fragrances instantly take you back to playing dress up with your nan's powder puff – floral, musk and soapy, wearing this fragrance with masculine tailoring or more edgy styling is a really fun way to play with fragrance and styling and gives it a an unexpected modern-day twist.'
