In a recent survey conducted by our publisher, Hearst, we reached out to 2,500 women to understand the state of play for female confidence in the UK right now.
The results were undeniably shocking. We found out that 87% of girls are growing up thinking the world will judge them on their looks, and only 4% of women in the UK feel beautiful. The research also uncovered the fact that 'mirror moments' are a ripe opportunity for negative self-talk, whether we're critiquing our hair, our faces or our bodies.
On the plus side, 22% of the women surveyed told us that getting their hair done is a tool they use to boost self-confidence, showing the true power of a good hair day. And it is from here that our Project Body Love partnership with Pantene was born.
