After kicking off the night at the Oscar ceremony, Selena Gomez continued her celebration at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Her fiancé, Benny Blanco, didn’t pose with her on the red carpet.

Gomez changed into a second dress, a custom black sequin column gown by Armani Privé. She accessorized with Bulgari jewelry, with her necklace especially standing out as a focal piece. For beauty, she kept her same hair and makeup from the ceremony.

In January, Gomez spoke to Jimmy Kimmel about why she prefers to have someone with her during awards shows. Left to her own devices, she can be a little “awkward,” she admitted.

The ceremonies are more fun “when you have a friend,” she explained. “I’m very awkward. ‘I don’t know, should I say hi?’ Sometimes I just insert myself and then it’s just awkward so I’d rather avoid the awkwardness. Yeah, [I sometimes find myself in situations where I wish I hadn’t inserted myself]. There’s like cool actors who come in and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I know, right?’ They’re like, ‘Oh, where’d you come from?’”

Gomez has been in the spotlight since she appeared on Barney & Friends as a child, then Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place as a kid. She made her Vanity Fair Oscar Party debut in 2011, when she was just 18:

The actress told ELLE in our Women in Hollywood issue that when she looks at her career in hindsight, she would’ve opted out of that child stardom.

“I have no regrets and I have a fantastic family and there were rules laid down by my parents and I’m appreciative of that,” she prefaced. “However, I don’t think I would’ve done it very young if I was thinking of myself now. There were a lot of things that I felt stunted by. Then adding a lot of pressure from a lot of people didn’t help me develop a sense of self in my twenties. It was a very difficult time. I live with it every day. I try my hardest to stay positive about everything and focus on things like this [movie] that really make me happy. But I would just say maybe wait and have a little bit of a life.”
