Riccardo Tisci's New Burberry Is for the Hypebeast With an Office Job

The Buckingham Palace guard changes every 30 minutes. The Burberry guard? That changed just now in a giant garage in London, thanks to Riccardo Tisci, Pat McGrath, Kendall Jenner, and a lot of logo'd bum bags (and tube socks, too!).

For his first Burberry collection, Tisci assembled the troops (including Natalia Vodianova, Lily Donaldson, Stella Tenant, and his longtime muse Mariacarla Boscono) for a style parade, and damn, it was sharp. Sharp enough that Style director Nikki Ogunnaike said "Damn, Burberry, take my money!" when the last looks left the catwalk.

Among the standouts? A series of smoldering tight black dresses and skirts that slinked across the catwalk and straight onto Instagram. You can buy a vinyl high waisted pencil skirt from the runway right now if you hit up @Burberry and click to buy... and if you're got about $650 to drop on new looks. Tisci is famous for styling Kim Kardashian as a modern sex goddess. Now he's doing it for London It Girls with a series of logo-stamped, lace, and fringed corsets, some padded at the butt for extra K.K. proportions.

If there's anything Tisci has taken with him from his Givenchy days it's a love of Bambi. No, really. It's kind of savage to send out a deer-print leather shirt that says WHY DID THEY KILL BAMBI in all capital letters, but wear it with Tisci's Bambi tote from his Givenchy days, and you'll be a street style hero.

One of the clearest signs of the new regime at Burberry was evident not on the runway, but in the front row. Christopher Bailey's Burberry shows were packed with celebrities. But there were no visible celebs in the front row of Tisci's debut collection. Instead, the seats were reserved for rave royalty like Lady Fag and Jazzelle Zanaughtti.
