Minka Kelly and Dan Reynolds have been dating for just over two years, and they are still going strong in 2025. The Imagine Dragons singer appeared on the Ransom Canyon star’s Netflix show, and they have been making some rare public appearances in Los Angeles in the new year.
They do seem to prefer to keep most of their relationship private, but here’s everything to know about Minka Kelly and Dan Reynolds’s relationship.
November 2022
Kelly and Reynolds were first seen together in November 2022. They reportedly enjoyed a long dinner at Los Angeles restaurant Cafe Stella before leaving together in a black SUV. A few days later, they were photographed holding hands.
February 2024
The couple watched the Super Bowl together in 2024, seeing the San Francisco 49ers play against the Kansas City Chiefs.
On February 25, the couple attended a soccer match for the U.S. Women’s National Team in Carson, California, between Inter Miami and the Los Angeles Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park. They were photographed sharing a kiss as Kelly snapped a selfie.
June 2024
They were photographed together at the UFC 303 event at T-Mobile Arena on June 29 in Las Vegas.
July 2024
In July 2024, Reynolds revealed a lot more about his relationship with Kelly than ever before in an interview with People, saying that the actress has become friends with his four children, whom he shares with ex-wife Aja Volkman: Arrow, Valentine, Gia, and Coco. The singer stated that his kids “love” Kelly.
“The kids really love Minka and really love their mom, and that’s okay. We view it as kind of bonuses to the family: more people to love, more people to help,” he said. “We’ve just been really careful with that and slow with navigating how to bring Minka in to that conversation."
Reynolds added, “She’s done a really incredible job of being sensitive and careful on her end as well.”
He also shared that he and Kelly were introduced through a mutual friend. At the time, Kelly was filming overseas, so they talked on the phone for a month before meeting in person. Kelly was working on her memoir Tell Me Everything, while he worked on a new album with Imagine Dragons. They ended up trading their artistic work.
“She’s like, ‘Well, if you’re going to share your art, I can share something with you, but it’s very vulnerable for me. Do you want to do this or not?’” Reynolds remembered. “She was very scared for me to read the book because we hadn’t met, just as much as I was scared for her to hear a song that I’d written. But we shared it and then it ended up being a really beautiful thing and brought us a lot closer. I think it helped us both kind of understand each other on a deeper level quite quickly.”
He continued, “It was a really strange and awesome way to meet someone because I was hearing all her life stories from youth to now, and she had a really hard, colorful, beautiful life,” he says. “Getting to read it all before you even meet somebody… I’ve never had that kind of introduction to someone.”

They made another rare appearance at a special screening of Gladiator II at Paramount Pictures Studios.

The pair was seen on another outing in early 2025, walking in their casual athletic wear in Los Angeles.
April 2025
Reynolds made a guest appearance on Kelly’s Netflix series Ransom Canyon. Kelly told People that he was a hit with the rest of the cast and crew.
“He came to visit and everyone, all the producers and writers, just naturally fell in love with him,” Kelly said. “It’s easy to love Dan.”
When asked how it came to be, she said, “They just asked one day, ‘Do you think he’d play this character?’ And I just was like, ‘Let me ask him. ’And he was such a good sport and down to play.”
Her co-star Josh Duhamel added, “He’s a good dude. He did a great job, he really did.”
Kelly admitted that the singer was “surprisingly nervous.”
Duhamel added, “It’s hard to walk into another environment. It’s a scary thing. He’s an amazingly talented dude on many different fronts. It takes one or two or three, maybe a couple scenes, and all those nerves go away.”

On July 14, Kelly shared a tribute to Reynolds on Instagram to celebrate his 38th birthday. In her caption, she reflected on how much he’s impacted her life.
“This beautiful man has healed wounds in me he did not inflict—simply by being himself,” she wrote. “By embodying true masculinity. The kind that is vulnerable, honest and loving.”
She continued, “Watching him father and love his babies. Honoring and respecting their beautiful mother. Doing everything he can to be absolutely everything everyone needs from him. Finding ways every day to light up the lives of the ones so lucky enough to be loved by him.”
