This is who I sit next to when I have to pump in an old storage closet.

I lose valuable pumping time to move all those tables so I can reach a plug.

The supply closet. Not terrible, only walked in on twice. BUT...the light switch is on the outside, so I am always afraid I'll be in the dark. I keep the light on my pump on, just in case.

Breaker room. Full of cords and wires. Yuck! That's a battery backup for a server sitting next to my pump. I taped up a few pictures of my son to help but as you can see, it didn't do much good! Oh, also, no A/C and it is hot hot hot in there!

This is where I pump. A shared office. I sit behind the person who this office belongs to. I've spilt my milk before because of the small surface to the right. I'm pretty sure where I pump is against the law.

I pump in a storage and server room that is over 80 degrees and loud. I can't hear myself think and sometimes get nauseous from the heat while pumping. I have been told by management I can use a lady's office space but I would have to kick her and the guy that's in there out the multiple times a day then rush and pump while they wait...I need more time that that, so this is where I am.

I pump next to brooms and a Swiffer mop. Along with filing cabinets and computer/phone servers/hubs humming along. Thank goodness for hands free pumping bustier.

I use a chair to hold my supplies while I prop the chair I sit in against the door so no one comes in (I have a sign on the door, too).

To my left: mirrored windows (so I couldn't turn on the light or people would be able to see in from the outside). To my right: stacked washer and dryer. Behind me: plastic grinder thing for custom orthotics. This is also the catch-all room for the clinic.

This is my "table" in the server room.

This may not look the worst but keep in mind that it's two chairs, two curtains, and two desks for a 600-bed hospital. So you can imagine how many breastfeeding staff members use it per day. I've gotten down there to find a line out the door! I've also pumped while sitting on the sink (it's to the right, unseen) when the two stations are being used.

I pumped in my dirty office shared with five other male managers and an office that at least eight other managers in the building had keys to. It wasn't ideal and I occasionally had to pump in my HR manager's office that had a window!

This is in the main hallway where everyone can hear you and see you walk in there. I've seen how uncomfortable some people get when they realize where I'm going. And that table is barely big enough. I dumped a full bottle once. The stain is still on the wall.

Document room in a retail furniture store. It's the only place besides the bathroom that locks and has no camera.

I work for a child welfare agency; this is the Observation Room of the Visitation Room. I have to clean and sort out the mess every time. Most times it gets very discouraging.

I call this the Chair Of Shame. It just may be the most depressing room I've ever stepped foot in.

Here's my pump room/mailroom. The room doesn't lock – I just put up a sign.

I use Freemies so I don't have to stop working. If I did, I'd end up staying late every day to finish my work. When I'm in the office (a huge open room with all our desks and it's the room you enter from the street), I pump right there at my desk. I would much prefer to take the time to relax and think about my daughter and do hand compressions while I pump, but I don't want to miss any evening time with my daughter and my husband.
