Everything You Need to Know About Dior's Cruise 2017 Show

Blenheim Palace, located in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England, played the backdrop to today's show. Show goers took the Dior Express, a special Dior train, to get there. It's the third time Dior has staged a show at this location that was once the home of the 12th Duke of Marlborough.

According to show notes, this season's collection was an homage to the ongoing creative and cultural exchange between France and the UK. In the eighteenth century, France fell in love with English style, while the opposite happened in the twentieth century. This was the inspiration point for Dior creative directors Lucie Meier and Serge Ruffieux. What does that mean clothes-wise? Exactly what you'd expect from Dior: full printed silk skirts, white blouses, kick flares, and tweed.

"This is a runway look, not for the street," explained Dior makeup's creative and image director Peter Philips backstage. He applied deep bronze shadow, "as a color-block in a single sweep over the entire eyelid, from the lash root to the eyebrows."
