April showers bring May flowers, and we’ve got a whole garden’s worth of fresh fashion news, collabs, and launches coming your way. That’s right: it’s fully time to pack away our cold-weather coats and shed some layers as the spring offerings get hotter and hotter. From the latest gadget by Gucci and Finnish biotech brand Ōura to Fashionphile’s new NYC digs, May promises to deliver all the springtime excitement. Watch this space as the month progresses for all the best and brightest launches.
Who: Gucci and Ōura
What: Luxury smart ring
Where: Available online at gucci.com
Why: Checking in with our bodies can slip through the cracks of our daily routines, but here comes a new way to make it easier—and more stylish—than ever. Gucci and Finnish health tech company Ōura’s new collaborative ring design monitors heart rate, temperature, and sleep activity, all via the Ōura app. These health metrics are more personal than a regular wearable, due to the strong signals sent from the arteries in our fingers to Ōura’s research-grade sensors. Despite packing such high functioning technology along with an 18-karat gold Gucci emblem, the device only weighs a mere four grams. Advanced biometrics neatly packaged in a minimalistic design makes this accessory well worth the splurge.

At long last, the buzzy collab between Italian brand Marni and Uniqlo is out in the world. Marni’s unexpected pattern-clashing and color combinations find a perfect home in the retailer’s perfectly cut basics. The floral wide-leg pants and cross-check shirts are quirky, a bit chaotic, and pure in form. Run like the wind to snag a piece, because we’re almost certain this collection won’t stay in stock for much longer.

Who: Prada and Cassius Hirst
What: Exclusive sneaker capsule
Where: Available in limited quantities online at prada.com and at select Prada stores
Why: Cassius Hirst, aka the artist known as Cass, has been painting sneakers since he was 14 years old, reworking and altering them to create something raw, unfinished, and completely new. Cass showed his dad (Damien Hirst) the sneakers, who then passed along the work to Miuccia Prada herself. The rest, as they say, is history. Specifically, Cass worked on the Italian house’s classic America’s Cup sneaker, distorting the leather and rendering the silhouette in various states of distress, as the names suggest: ATT4CK, D3CAY, SUST4IN, and REL3ASE. The neon rainbow color palette offers a fresh take on a classic, showcasing Prada’s innate ability to reinvent itself again and again, and allow the younger generation to create uninhibitedly. The result? Striking collector’s items sure to find their way into a celeb closet or two.
