How Coco Jones Got Ready for Off-White’s First NYFW Show
She felt “like a life-size Barbie.”

Labor Day has come and gone, but Coco Jones is still holding onto the last bits of summer, as demonstrated by her Off-White look this past weekend. The singer and actor celebrated the brand’s New York Fashion Week debut on Sunday, descending on Brooklyn in a celebratory yet sexy number: a black halter minidress with a yellow striped trim and fringe hem. A high ponytail with slick, side-swept bangs completed the look, plus a pair of silver bangles and matching hoop earrings.
“The inspiration was fun, flirty, and kind of wrapping up summer. I love looks that play with texture and color as well,” she tells ELLE.com.
The event marked designer Ibrahim Kamara’s first collection succeeding the late Virgil Abloh, and VIPs from Issa Rae to Mary J. Blige to US Open finalists gathered around the basketball courts in Brooklyn Bridge Park to show their support. Jones herself was spotted with the likes of Victoria Monét, Tinashe, and Ayra Starr in the front row.
“My favorite part of the event was catching up with the girlies! I love running into fellow artists and creatives and chopping it up,” she says.
Here, Jones takes us behind the scenes as she gets ready.
