Jenny Slate is in bloom. The actress and comedian was adorned in florals as she stepped out for the It Ends with Us premiere in New York Tuesday night wearing a sleeveless gown by Rodarte, styled by Jordan Johnson. The floor-length number featured a plunging gold lace panel down the torso and a multicolored skirt that grazed the magenta carpet. For a bit more shine, she accessorized with dangling floral earrings and a delicate gold bracelet. Her makeup artist, Kirin Bhatty, and hair stylist, Jordan M, made sure she was glowing too. (Maybe the espresso martini during glam also helped a bit.)
Slate stars in the Colleen Hoover adaptation as Allysa, best friend of Blake Lively’s Lily Bloom and sister to Justin Baldoni’s Ryle Kincaid. In the film, she adds some levity to the drama, along with a wardrobe of maximalist prints and colors. Like Lively, she’s been following the floral theme (in the book and film, Lily owns a flower shop) throughout the press tour. She’s even worked some lovely sheer gowns into the mix, too.
It Ends with Us hits theaters on Friday, and Slate has even more coming this year. Five years after releasing Little Weirds, she’s publishing another collection of essays, Lifeform, on October 22. But for now, she’s walking us through her premiere night, alongside her husband, Ben Shattuck.
