See How Victoria Monét Got Ready for Her Big Night at the Grammys
With Hazel, of course.

While accepting her Grammy for Best New Artist Sunday night, Victoria Monét looked back at her years-long journey as a songwriter and musician in the industry. “My roots have been growing underneath ground, unseen, for so long,” she said tearfully at the mic. “And I feel like today I’m sprouting, finally above ground.” All that hustle paid off as she went home with not one, not two, but three Grammy Awards including Best R&B Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for Jaguar II. (She was nominated for seven total.)
Monét dressed aptly for the long-awaited occasion, styled by Kollin Carter in a custom Versace gown in light brown, the signature color of her Jaguar era. She wore Bulgari jewels for some extra sparkle. Her two-year-old daughter, Hazel, matched in her own tiny dress, and her partner, John Gaines, came to support in an olive-green suit. For glam, she wore a look using MAC products, courtesy of Alexander Echeverri, and wore her hair in a chignon styled by Davontae’ Washington.
There’s no denying this is Monét’s moment. She told ELLE.com back in August: “I’m just going for it, and no matter how many times people try to deter me or get me off track—I even have imposter syndrome and I do it to myself with self-sabotage—I still have that focus, and it’s like, I’m going to do it until I die.”
Below, take a look at how she got ready for the ceremony.
