A Simple Accessory That Makes You Feel Like You've Got Your Sh*t Together
Hiding the hair elastic.

I was on the subway on my way to work the other day and the train was packed—I was standing, holding the pole, facing a woman who was seated (isn't that the most awkward subway stance?). She got up to leave and I started to take her seat, which, by unspoken subway laws, was mine. But before I had a chance to adjust my 3,245 bags and sit down, a woman swooped in. I don't even know how she appeared and snuck in there, but I was impressed by her speed and her style: she was wearing a boxy blue shirt dress and simple flat leather sandals; she carried a a pebble-colored Gucci tote, and her hair was pulled back into a low bun held together with a chic leather-and-silver clip. I looked at my one too-loose hair elastic sliding down my wrist, thought about the other one holding my hair together in a very hastily made ponytail, and wondered: Are my hair elastics my "tell" that I haven't got it together?
Probably not. But here are some nice options to cover up hair elastics anyway.
