Dakota Fanning’s Complete Dating History

The Perfect Couple star Dakota Fanning grew up in the spotlight, and she has made a habit of protecting her personal life as much as possible. She also claims not to have much of one.

“I don’t really date,” Fanning told Glamour in a 2013 interview. “I have a weird vision of relationships because my parents have known each other since second grade, and they got married right out of college. I’ve always thought that’s what it’s supposed to be like, and if it’s not, then I don’t want to waste my time on it.”

She continued, “Even when I was 14, I was like, ‘I’m not gonna marry this person. What’s the point of doing it?’ It’s not me being naive. I just know what it’s supposed to be like. And I think until I feel that, I cannot be bothered.”

In January 2018, she told Vogue Australia that settling down was on her mind more.

“I can’t wait to be a mom,” she said. “I can’t wait to get married. Not yet, but those things are very important to me, and I think about them.”

In 2013, when Fanning was 19 years old, she started dating 32-year-old U.K. model Jamie Strachan. Strachan worked with fashion brands like Gucci, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, and Michael Kors. They dated for about three years; Fanning confirmed their breakup in October 2016 during an interview with Town & Country. However, she politely declined to explain why.

“I was raised by very traditional Southern parents with Southern manners,” Fanning said. “You don’t air your dirty laundry to people that aren’t your family or your friends. Why would I ever want to portray myself as anything other than together?”

But she did share more about how she likes to meet people who might make prospective romantic partners.

“The way I prefer to meet someone is through a friend… [They’re] most likely not a freak,” she joked. “I find dates, in general, horrific. We have to sit there and ask these questions and pretend to eat a meal, and it just feels so stiff.”

In December 2016, the Daily Mail published photos of Fanning walking hand-in-hand with a man identified as commercial real estate broker Logan Markley, with whom the actress once attended Campbell Hall Episcopal High School.

“Dakota and Logan have always been close, and they dated for about a year in high school,” said a source. “Logan recently split with his girlfriend, so when Dakota split with Jamie, they hooked up again. It’s early days, but they couldn’t be happier.”

There’s not much info on why they split, but Fanning seemed to be single again in 2017.

In October 2017, Fanning was seen with Henry Frye at Madison Square Garden. Frye seemed to be another ordinary citizen without connections to the entertainment industry. In May 2018, Page Six reported that the pair met in Cape Cod on vacation and that he attended the University of Vermont and played basketball in high school. Fanning did share a picture of Frye for Valentine’s Day of that year but has not said much since about their relationship or a potential breakup.
