Camagüey, Cuba
Thanks to all the recent buzz surrounding the now-seeable country, tourists are flocking to Havana in droves. Break away from the fad-following flock and make the six-hour trek inland to central Cuba. Fez, Morocco
Marrakech may be magical, but Fez—250 miles to the north—is equally as fascinating. Decidedly less fashionable and touristy than the former, Fez more than makes up for it with authentic culture and old-world charm beloved by native Moroccans.
Not to be missed: Lose yourself within the ancient walled city, Medina of Fez. Much of its 9th Century infrastructure is still intact, so stepping inside transports visitors to a medieval world. Wander down narrow walkways winding past hundreds of souks, tanners, mosques, madrasas, restaurants, riads, and more. And explore without interruption—cars aren't allowed.

Malmö, Sweden
Four-and-a-half hours by train from Stockholm (and literally just across a bridge from Copenhagen), Malmö is like the capital city's secretly cooler little sister. Originally a seaside industrial town, the town now boasts cutting-edge concept art galleries, tons of cafes, and a plethora of skate parks, lending it a young, friendly atmosphere like no other.
Not to be missed: The tallest building in Scandinavia, Turning Torso. Inspired by a Spanish sculpture of the human body, this futuristic skyscraper spirals 90 degrees from the base to the apex. Sadly, you can only admire the exterior—it's actually a private residential building.
